impacting the industry over the last few years and which will continue to have
a bigger impact in 2024. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Roger Bitterlin,
Sales Director Southeast Asia and Oceania of ENGEL, considers energy costs as a
main concern: “In Southeast Asia (SEA), as in the rest of the world we see an
increase in energy costs with the conflicts going on around the world this
would continue to be a prominent issue. As a result, manufacturers are placing
even more importance on energy saving solutions without sacrificing quality for
their productions.”<o:p></o:p><p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Additionally, in hand with this, consumers and governments
around the region are also placing more demand on sustainable production. “We
have seen several governments in SEA implementing more policies towards
Circular Economy and sustainability topics, such as the Thai government’s
Bio-Circular-Green Economy (BCG) model strategy for national development or the
Vietnamese government’s revision of the Law on Environmental Protection to help
shift the country from a linear economy to a circular economy,” according to
Mr. Bitterlin.</p><p class="MsoNormal"><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">As production in SEA moves towards Industry 4.0, digitalisation
and smart factories, Mr. Bitterlin expects also an increase in the Big Data and
data analysis for a more efficient production. “Additionally, we have seen an
increase in demand for automated solutions which reduces working steps and
makes production more economical,” he adds.</p><p class="MsoNormal"><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The impact from COVID-19 is still seen in the movement of
production sites out of China to SEA with this, manufacturers in the region can
become more competitive with sustainable production solutions and reduction of
waste.</p><p class="MsoNormal"><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">ENGEL as a company has always placed great importance in
innovation, and this is reflected in the annual budget for R&D of over 70
million Euros. As Mr. Bitterlin explains: “True to our motto ‘be the first’, we
help our customers to be pioneers. With them, we set new standards in plastics
processing - in injection molding machines, automation solutions, technologies
and digital solutions.”</p><p class="MsoNormal"><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Sustainability is a fundamental pillar of entrepreneurial
activity for ENGEL, and it has been developing solutions for sustainable
plastics processing for over 15 years. “Our commitment to sustainability is
reflected in our platinum award by EcoVadis placing us among the top 1% of
world’s most sustainable companies,” according to Mr. Bitterlin.</p><p class="MsoNormal"><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Not only is ENGEL sustainable in-house, it also places importance
in optimising the injection moulding process for energy efficient recycling and
production. Through its digital solutions and assistance systems, such as the
iQ weight control, ENGEL can increase process stability and reduce waste in
production. “We have technologies which allows manufacturers to use more
recycled material with great results and we have new machine concepts, the
2-stage process, which shortens the recycling chain by allowing producers to
directly use regrind material for plasticizing, saving energy and reducing CO2
emissions in turn,” Mr. Bitterlin explains. </p><p class="MsoNormal"><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">In the SEA region where there can be a large variation in
ambient conditions in factories, ENGEL digital solutions can aid in increasing
stability and the usage of appropriate parameters which can both reduce scrap
rates and energy costs. With digital solutions in the injection moulding
manufacturing process, manufacturers can detect and compensate for deviations
in the production process and thus minimise scrap. ENGEL digital products such
as iQ weight control and iQ process observer support producers in this. A
stable production reduces machine downtime which allows manufacturers to use
the full potential of their injection molding machine and save time and costs.</p><p class="MsoNormal"><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">By networking the injection moulding machines, manufacturers
can exchange information directly with software systems. Process data is
digitally recorded and collected in real time. Through manufacture and process
monitoring, production performance can be improved. Digital solutions such as
the ENGEL iQ process observer, ENGEL simlink and the ENGEL e-connect portal and
ENGEL authenTIG (manufacturing execution system) facilitates this.</p><p class="MsoNormal"><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">For 2024, ENGEL is set to highlight these solutions. “In
addition, we would like to highlight our ENGEL e-mac a flexible all-electric
machine for standard applications which makes it especially suitable for a wide
variety of producers. We have made our e-mac series even more compact, allowing
producers to optimally utilize their production floor space. They will also
benefit from the unbeatable advantages of an all-electric injection molding
machine by ENGEL which ensures consistently high quality of the parts you
produce. Moreover, the outstanding energy efficiency saves users money in terms
of production costs,” according to Mr. Bitterlin.</p><p class="MsoNormal"><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">ENGEL currently has a wide-reaching presence in the region
with subsidiaries in Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore and a representative office
in Indonesia – in terms of serving its customers, it has both sales and service
located in 6 countries in SEA. As Mr. Bitterlin stressed, the ENGEL Thailand
office serves as a training centre for both customers and its internal staff.
Customers can also use the facility for mould trials with the ENGEL machines
and automation available there.</p><p class="MsoNormal"><o:p></o:p></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7149601536807324669.post-1260810338715653132023-01-11T15:25:00.001+08:002023-01-11T15:25:53.141+08:00Packaging industry to move towards smart production <p> </p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizIr0C3ra0D2ncW_DF30PPlqw7QkjnAu3B0H_5CRX0S0rm5LoDJS7ClDNfkDLm9QiZQwzbvoEuPdIb6mMqFOozvRra55spTN70a_DxFs8V0Uinn-MIuEX_dAyYo42uD8Wh9gQaQyvClvRGen9eW6-HOnjJBLT9xCouoXmEPCce0iiOLUBHZvPm5YmlDg/s1196/Henky%20Wibawa.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1196" data-original-width="940" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizIr0C3ra0D2ncW_DF30PPlqw7QkjnAu3B0H_5CRX0S0rm5LoDJS7ClDNfkDLm9QiZQwzbvoEuPdIb6mMqFOozvRra55spTN70a_DxFs8V0Uinn-MIuEX_dAyYo42uD8Wh9gQaQyvClvRGen9eW6-HOnjJBLT9xCouoXmEPCce0iiOLUBHZvPm5YmlDg/s320/Henky%20Wibawa.jpg" width="252" /></a></div>The upcoming trends in plastics packaging in 2023 will
cover three main aspects, based on assessment by Henky Wibawa, Executive
Director of Indonesian Packaging Federation and Vice President for Education of
World Packaging Organisation. One is the impact of Covid-19 pandemic that has
been bringing, among many things, food safety concerns. The well-documented
e-commerce boom post-Covid has obviously increased demand for more well-tested
and approved food contact materials, including best practices along the supply
chain. The second aspect is the redesign of plastic packaging for circularity.
Mono-materials are particularly crucial, because any reduction in packaging
structure, or anything that makes the packaging easier to be recycled, creates
huge benefits to a sustainable world. The third aspect is the changing
landscape of consumption, which means that plastic packaging solutions are
increasingly required to be smarter from eliminating food waste, fighting
counterfeiting and market diversion, driving supply chain efficiencies, brand
protection and consumer engagement, to increasing recycling rates, where
active, connected and interactive packaging innovation can have a
transformative impact,” according to Mr. Wibawa.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><o:p></o:p><p></p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing">Mr. Wibawa cites some major factors that will affect the
overall operations of plastics packaging manufacturers in 2023. “These factors
include how to manage continuously the overall equipment effectiveness with six
big losses in equipment - such as breakdown losses, setup and maintenance
losses, idling losses, reduced speed losses, quality losses, and startup
losses. Also, the most hotly discussed in the packaging manufacturing world is
Industry 4.0. A broadly defined group of emerging innovations in industrial
automation and data exchange, Industry 4.0 demonstrates tremendous potential to
bolster productivity, reduce waste, refine product quality, enhance
manufacturing flexibility, decrease operating costs and deliver myriad other
benefits to the factory floor. Given the highly diverse operations of global
manufacturers and variations in region, industry, size, and competitive
environment, the full potential of Industry 4.0 continues to take active
shape,” Mr. Wibawa explains.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><br /></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing">The properties that make plastic so appealing for
packaging - strength to weight ratio, durability, malleability, sterility and
clarity – will be the direction. “Including the Southeast Asian region, we need
to understand that plastic packaging will still grow next year, because there's
no real substitute. Our collaboration efforts with plastic packaging designers,
brandowners, converters, and material manufacturers indicate that they are
ready to rethink the whole challenges,” Mr. Wibawa mentions. Another direction
will focus on the supply chain closed loop systems: detailed market data,
packaging compositional analysis, redesign & mapping recyclability
(infrastructure study, EPR schemes, digital track & traceability),
efficient recycling strategy and technology, end markets-fit to purpose by
quality/preferable over virgin fossil-based materials. He also noted the four
pillars of unlocking the plastic packaging circular economy: Operational
(sorting, collecting, recycling), Financial (full net costs: returning
recyclates to market), Community (consumer guidance), Governance (representative
leadership accessible to expertise). </p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><br /></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing">Read the Special Report: Outlook 2023 for more forecasts and insights from industry experts. <a href="https://edms.industrysourcing.com/ezine/22/12/irna.html" target="_blank">Click here...</a></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><o:p></o:p></p>

lines, <a href="http://www.kunghsing.com.tw/" target="_self">Kung Hsing
Plastics Machinery Co., Ltd</a>. has already accumulated 50 years of
experience in plastic extrusion machinery and offers a wide range of blown film
lines, monofilament making machine, recycling systems, etc. Located in
Taiwan, <a href="http://www.kunghsing.com.tw/" target="_self">Kung Hsing</a> offers
complete 3-layer to 7-layer systems that are ideal for the processing of virgin
as well as recycled and biodegradable materials into plastic films. The films
are for such applications as food packaging, agricultural packaging, heat
shrink film, etc. to meet the various requirements of its customers. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing">Mr. Kun-Lin Tsai, Vice President of <a href="http://www.kunghsing.com.tw/" target="_self">Kung Hsing Plastics
Machinery Co., Ltd.</a> shares with International Plastics News for Asia
how the company can raise the efficiency and productivity of its customers
through its innovative technology.<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><i><span style="color: #2b00fe;">What current trends in plastic films production affect
the development of Kung Hsing blown film solutions and why?</span></i><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing">Mr. Kun-Lin: The world market is seeing increased
demand for plastic films. For instance, there is rising requirement for safe
and hygienic packaging in foods, beverage and other products. Another important
trend is that single-material packaging is gaining popularity due to its
recyclability. To achieve the properties of existing composite packaging
materials, single material formulations and micro-layer film structures must be
developed. </p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing">To be more specific, we see the packaging market for food
and beverage changing along with other special markets. That is why more
companies require machines that produce film capable of consolidating oxygen
and moisture barriers through a high safety standard to prolong the freshness
of food. For example, packaging that is appropriate for storing frozen meat
down to -40°C, seafood, dairy products and cookies. We also see greater
exchange of fresh meat and seafood around the world, thanks to export
agreements for meat products, leading to more countries having high demand for
safer packaging. </p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><a href="http://www.kunghsing.com.tw/" target="_self">Kung
Hsing</a> has been monitoring all these important trends. In response, we
have developed and introduced co-extrusion blown film lines that are
specifically designed to address the market preference for high productivity
and recyclability at the most cost-efficient manner. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><i><span style="color: #2b00fe;">How can Kung Hsing blown film solutions realise higher
productivity and greater efficiency? <o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing">Mr. Kun-Lin: Through the unique machine design,
automation devices, and production monitoring system, Kung Hsing blown film
solutions can help customers achieve 30% increase in production as <i>processing of virgin as well as recycled/biodegradable </i>compared to
other extruders available in the market today. <a href="http://www.kunghsing.com.tw/" target="_self">Kung Hsing</a> managed
to provide advanced blow film system to increase production capacity while
keeping energy consumption at the same level. In addition to energy efficiency,
performance in terms of speed is the best characteristic of Kung Hsing’s
multilayer film co-extrusion machines.</p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><a href="http://www.kunghsing.com.tw/" target="_self">Kung
Hsing</a> offers multilayer machines that can be left unattended; with
production monitoring capable of evaluating problems and utilise production
data to achieve great precision, enhance efficiency, and increase production
throughput rate at the same time. For instance, our 5-layer die design reduces
melt resident time, enables quick change-over and consistent melt distribution,
as well as high output rate. This design is capable of a throughput of 600 kg/h
with Ø 300 mm die, and guarantees rate of return that is 2 times the diameter
of the die<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing">Such innovation seals<a href="http://www.kunghsing.com.tw/" target="_self"> Kung Hsing’</a>s
special position in the blown film sector where the market is always on the
lookout for solutions that can improve profitability at lower production costs.<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjoz88KiMHtgfPeFGBV4c9idiQPxkvxNldW-I6qZvDATkhIU-ISaGVkPuAmim2GLPUNqM3xhr3Sx1YYR3LmE0ZclB8_TwFnDHdqeroV6LIpxdMAlHFNg9hfBEtxV4AUaWg7mVkHgHKpigLmzr_1wOibvdLWAW-v2TSM5HEnGuFDWWNUqkBQ-nUSfjR9sQ" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="437" data-original-width="400" height="291" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjoz88KiMHtgfPeFGBV4c9idiQPxkvxNldW-I6qZvDATkhIU-ISaGVkPuAmim2GLPUNqM3xhr3Sx1YYR3LmE0ZclB8_TwFnDHdqeroV6LIpxdMAlHFNg9hfBEtxV4AUaWg7mVkHgHKpigLmzr_1wOibvdLWAW-v2TSM5HEnGuFDWWNUqkBQ-nUSfjR9sQ=w267-h291" width="267" /></a></div><p></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><i><span style="color: #2b00fe;">Can Kung Hsing blow film line adhere to circular economy
targets given the growing market preference for technologies that can process
recycled materials? </span></i></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing">Mr. Kun-Lin: Biodegradable film lines and extruders that
can process more environmentally-friendly materials are gaining more relevance
in the industry. However, it is important to note that there are still
challenges waiting to be solved, for example, reducing the price of technology
and improving the properties of biodegradable plastic films. We are proud to
say that our innovative spirit and commitment to excellence have enabled us to
respond to the call towards circular economy in plastics production as Kung
Hsing has been providing production lines that can process biodegradable
materials. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing">The 5-layer <a href="http://www.kunghsing.com.tw/" target="_self">Kung Hsing</a> co-extrusion line is by far our response
towards circularity in plastics production. Using multi-layer co-extrusion film
blowing machines allows for more flexible material formulations and even higher
percentages of recycled materials to be added, which can benefit the recycling
economy. It can produce cleaner recycled plastic pellets and increase the
percentage of recycled material added with more advanced recycling equipment. </p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing">To meet the high demand for food and beverage packaging,
the 5-layer co-extrusion blown film line is capable of processing recyclable
all-PE multilayer structure film, gaining more relevance in an industry that is
fast moving towards a circular economy. This characteristic is built based on
the increasing awareness in the application of environmentally-friendly
materials. In this regard, Kung Hsing has been keeping the balance between
improving recyclable all-PE multilayer structure film and reducing the price of
this innovative technology.<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><i><span style="color: #2b00fe;">Automation plays an important role in today’s production
operations. Does Kung Hsing offer this technology? <o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing">Mr. Kun-Lin: Automation in plant operation is
essential if you want to generate a production capacity aligned to the requests
of customers. For example, Kung Hsing offers multilayer machines with high
production rate - thanks to the outstanding design, which contributes to lower
processing cost and increases production throughput rate for customers. </p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing">For years, we have been dedicated to improving extrusion
equipment, thus as compared to our other extruders, the result was a 30%
increase in production. </p><p class="MsoNoSpacing">Within the perspective of maximising production capacity
as aligned to the demanding packaging sector, <a href="http://www.kunghsing.com.tw/" target="_self">Kung Hsing</a> offers

have evolved over the years, with new materials providing exceptional
advantages aside from meeting environment-protection targets. As research and development projects focusing
on biodegradable plastic applications mount, the complexity and distinct benefits
of these materials are now being unlocked. <p></p><p>According to the
report published by Allied Market Research, the global biodegradable plastics
market is estimated to reach US$4.2 billion by 2027, registering a CAGR of
13.3% from 2020 to 2027. The report highlights the market potential, market
characteristics, growth by segmentation, and competitive landscape. The major
contributor to this growth is the increase in demand for biodegradable plastic
in food packaging application, eco-friendly sentiments giving rise to adoption
of biodegradable plastic, and favourable government policies towards bioplastics.
The period also saw rising demand for biodegradable plastics due to the
COVID-19 pandemic that triggered increased needs for face masks, personal
protective equipment and other medical disposables, and packaging products. The
global plastics industry also needs to face the challenge of creating a
circular economy paving the way for reduction in plastic waste, increased
recycling and reuse of plastics. </p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-fareast-font-family: Arial;">Several
innovations have proven how the plastics industry has been devoting resources
towards research and development for increased use of biodegradable materials.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Recycling end-of-life medical components</b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-fareast-font-family: Arial;">Medical
equipment made using Solvay’s Udel® high-performance polysulfone (PSU)
thermoplastic will be recycled at the end of their useful lives in a new
sustainability initiative that the company has embarked on with Mitsubishi
Chemical Advanced Materials (MCAM). </span> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-fareast-font-family: Arial;">In line with
Solvay’s One Planet sustainability roadmap and Mitsubishi’s KAITEKI
vision designed to preserve resources and contribute to safer, cleaner and more
sustainable products, both companies are currently investigating the
implementation of logistics for recovery, recycling, and reprocessing of Udel® PSU medical
components, with the aim of recycled material being suitable for reuse in the
original applications.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The agreement
with MCAM is the latest demonstration of Solvay’s commitment to help customers
achieve ambitious sustainability targets, according to Antonella Di Meo,
Product Sustainability Manager at Solvay. It is part of Solvay’s long-term
commitment to develop sustainable solutions from bio-based or recycled
resources. The project aims to demonstrate the possibility of recycling
high-value Udel® PSU parts used in the medical field, yielding important
savings in CO2 emissions along the production and supply chain. </p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-fareast-font-family: Arial;">The project
involves using a combination of the expertise developed by MCAM to wash and
mechanically purify the material, together with Solvay's ability to evaluate
the chemistry of the end-of-life polymer, to develop a robust recycling
strategy that will provide customers with materials that fully meet all
specifications. MCAM has already partnered with Solvay in reclamation and
recycling of other high-performance polymers, including KetaSpire®
polyetheretherketone (PEEK). <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Together
with Solvay’s polymer chemistry expertise, MCAM’s mastery of mechanical
recycling will help overcome the special challenges customers face to recycle
and reuse such polymers in demanding applications in support of the circular
economy. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><o:p></o:p></span></p>

biodegradable coating material</b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-fareast-font-family: Arial;">Environmental
problems caused by population explosion such as global warming, natural
resource depletion, water shortage and plastic pollution are getting severe in
the world. The micro-plastic pollution problem is destroying nature,
including the marine environment. Recently, there are some reports that
nano-plastic pollution, which is even smaller than micro-plastic pollution, is
already in our human body.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Biodegradable
plastic is one of the solutions which can mitigate this plastic pollution
problem. One of the typical biodegradable plastics is polylactic acid (PLA),
a thermoplastic resin normally used as biodegradable plastic. It is not often
seen that PLA is dissolved in some kind of liquid (solvent or water) and used
as coating, or painting materials. Some solvent can dissolve PLA although those
solvents are often toxic and harmful to humans and the environment. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvZDdiDTPj7ieHwQgEfL7iGxsClWJIzfTNc1k7mz4tX1jhYWXLdQfey0c8A86W5Fd7fSe6U0jYfXQDcw_9fVZZXZWfisUtUNpz2AN49TlNFG9EmwzdVG5IYhBkbjEOmn-swRCVQknHXBDAUhlAefH8mUUf6X9SmQ1d3vcKlVFsD4z9ma8akd1xPVcgug/s400/Gree%20alliance%20web.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="332" data-original-width="400" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvZDdiDTPj7ieHwQgEfL7iGxsClWJIzfTNc1k7mz4tX1jhYWXLdQfey0c8A86W5Fd7fSe6U0jYfXQDcw_9fVZZXZWfisUtUNpz2AN49TlNFG9EmwzdVG5IYhBkbjEOmn-swRCVQknHXBDAUhlAefH8mUUf6X9SmQ1d3vcKlVFsD4z9ma8akd1xPVcgug/s320/Gree%20alliance%20web.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><p class="MsoNormal">Green Science Alliance
Co., Ltd., a Japanese chemical company, has been trying to replace all the petrochemical-based
products with nature biomass-derived chemical products. This time,
Dr. Ryohei Mori had developed a PLA-based 100% nature biomass
biodegradable coating material. Solvent is a relatively environmentally
friendly nature derived one and other additives are also nature derived
materials. It is a quite rare product because PLA is often used as plastic and
this PLA can be coated or painted. Green Science Alliance is also planning to
apply colour to make PLA-based colour ink and paint. </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The company has
also developed a next-generation rechargeable battery, fuel cells, solar
cells, as well as CO2 capture and conversion technologies. In 2021, Green
Science Alliance announced the development of a 100% biomass-based biodegradable

known as COP26, was held from October 31 to November 13, 2021 in Glasgow,
Scotland, United Kingdom. What makes COP26 extremely important for countries
around the world is the consensus that there should be an accelerated action on
climate change and at COP26, representatives from 200 countries entered into
what is known as Glasgow Climate Pact. The pact aims to speed up the action on
climate change by enjoining all countries to present ambitious 2030 emissions
reduction targets that will enable global net zero by 2030 and keep 1.5 degrees
Celsius within reach. To realise these targets, countries will need to accelerate
the phase-out of coal, curtail deforestation speed up the switch to electric
vehicles and encourage investment in renewables. The landmark agreement also establishes the framework
for countries to exchange carbon credits. <p></p><p class="MsoNormal"><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">About two years prior to the COP26, only 30% of the world
was covered by net zero targets. Now the figure has reached around 90% with 154
countries committing to new targets to reduce emissions – representing about
80% of the global emissions. The pact will see a transition to zero emission

<p class="MsoNormal">The plastics industry and its key players are fully aware of
the issues surrounding climate change. Recent developments have put into the

its commitment to decarbonize the chemical industry and supports the
prestigious overall US$3.5 billion project to produce green ammonia and green
hydrogen in Duqm, Oman. Clariant will supply KBR with its next-generation
AmoMax 10 Plus ammonia synthesis catalyst for the upcoming ACME green ammonia
plant of the Oman Company for the Development of the Special Economic Zone at
Duqm. Once completed, the plant will be a fully integrated, carbon-neutral
facility, using solar and wind energy to produce 300 tonnes of ammonia per day.
The production of green ammonia is expected to play a crucial role in the
global energy transition, and with Clariant’s novel ammonia synthesis catalyst
AmoMax 10 Plus, it can provide a state-of-the-art product to facilitate this
change towards a more sustainable future. The superior activity of AmoMax 10
Plus allows operation with a higher per pass conversion and lower loop
pressure. Consequently, it can be used to increase ammonia production and/or to
reduce energy consumption. Moreover, the catalyst’s improved stability and
excellent resistance to poisons like water and oxygen increase its robustness
and lifetime. These combined features ensure that AmoMax 10 Plus can deliver
stable and reliable performance despite fluctuating feed conditions caused by
the variable supplies of renewable energy. Overall, green ammonia producers can
expect maximum yields with minimum operating expenses. <p class="MsoNormal">Net-zero carbon emission has been the goals of leading
companies in introducing their new-generation products. SABIC, for instance, has
introduced LNP™ ELCRIN™ EXL7414B copolymer, the company’s first bio-based
polycarbonate (PC) copolymer to help advance the consumer electronics
industry’s net-zero carbon emissions goals. The new copolymer is the first
grade in an expanding portfolio to secure the International Sustainability and
Carbon Certification Plus (ISCC+) designation. It is formulated with over 50% bio-based
content from waste materials, which do not compete with the food chain,
according to the mass balance approach. A preliminary SABIC internal assessment
indicates that each kilogram of the new bio-based resin provides two kilograms
of CO2 reduction as compared to the fossil-based alternative. LNP ELCRIN EXL
resin joins SABIC’s fast-growing bio-based materials offering, which also
includes ULTEM™ resins and LNP™ THERMOCOMP™ compounds.</p><p class="MsoNormal"><o:p></o:p></p>

and greenhouse gas emission reduction program by: committing to reduce its
total greenhouse gas emissions (including Scope 1, 2, 3 upstream) and the
carbon footprint of its products by 50% by 2030, from a 2016 baseline; and
using 100% renewable electricity in all production plants by 2025 (was 70% in 2020);
achieving Net Zero Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 2040 on the way to
Net Zero across all value chains by 2050.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>The company earlier announced that it has successfully halved the carbon
footprint of its Akulon® PA6, and is also developing greenhouse gas reduction
roadmaps for Stanyl® PA46 and Arnitel® TPC. In its drive towards 100% renewable
electricity, DSM Engineering Materials plants in Europe and China are already
fully powered by renewable electricity. In addition, DSM Engineering Materials
has committed to developing and rolling out bio- and/or recycled-based
alternatives for its entire portfolio by 2030; specific grades are already
available for all major product lines. Overall, these initiatives <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>will help DSM Engineering Materials to achieve
Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions (of direct production and via renewable
electricity) by 2040 on the journey to Net Zero across all value chains by
2050.<o:p></o:p><p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Saint-Gobain also unveiled its CO2 roadmap for achieving
carbon neutrality. The roadmap incorporates the Group’s new commitments through
to 2030 in terms of reducing not only its direct and indirect carbon dioxide
emissions, but also the emissions along its value chain. These new targets for
2030 have been validated by the Science-Based Targets (SBT) initiative which
considers them aligned with the Group’s 2050 net-zero commitment. To meet its
targets, Saint-Gobain will dedicate a targeted capital expenditure and R&D
budget of around €100 million per year until 2030. This approach will be the basis
for the decisions that the Group will take to achieve carbon neutrality by
2050. In the construction industry, which accounts for around 40% of global CO2
emissions, Saint-Gobain develops and markets solutions to improve the energy
efficiency in buildings, and solutions with a reduced carbon footprint – such
as for light construction – designed to replace traditional, more
carbon-intensive heavy building materials. In the transport industry, it helps
in the transition through its lightweight and more energy efficient solutions. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Another leading company, ExxonMobil, put forth its ambition
to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions for operated assets by 2050,
backed by a comprehensive approach to develop detailed emission-reduction
roadmaps for major facilities and assets. The net-zero ambition is contained in
the company’s Advancing Climate Solutions - 2022 Progress Report, formerly
known as the Energy & Carbon Summary. The net-zero aspiration applies to
Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions and builds on ExxonMobil’s 2030
emission-reduction plans, which include net-zero emissions for Permian Basin
operations and ongoing investments in lower-emission solutions in which it has
extensive experience, including carbon capture and storage, hydrogen and
biofuels. The report provides details of how ExxonMobil’s business strategy is
resilient when tested against a range of Paris-aligned net-zero scenarios,
including the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s 2018
Special Report and the International Energy Agency’s Net Zero by 2050 scenario.</p><p class="MsoNormal"><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec) has
completed the construction of China's first megaton carbon capture, utilisation
and storage (CCUS) project, the Qilu-Shengli Oilfield CCUS on January 29, which
will reduce carbon emission by 1 million tonnes per year, the equivalent of
planting nearly 9 million trees and shutting down 600,000 economy cars. As
China's largest full industrial chain CCUS demonstration base and industry
benchmark, the project is estimated to increase the oil production by 2.965
million tons in the next 15 years. It's of great significance to China's scaled
development of CCUS and building an "artificial carbon cycle" model
to increase China's carbon emissions reduction capabilities as the country
advances to achieve the "dual carbon" goals of reaching peak carbon
emissions by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060. <span style="background: yellow;"></span></p><p class="MsoNormal">For more information and technical articles, read the latest issue of the<a href="http://edms.industrysourcing.com/ezine/22/02/irna.html#/" target="_blank"> International Plastics News for Asia</a></p><p class="MsoNormal"><o:p></o:p></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7149601536807324669.post-17226521625609276752021-11-26T18:15:00.018+08:002021-11-26T18:18:51.255+08:00ENGEL invests in Bangkok<p class="MsoNoSpacing"></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiftq9ioO6SJArDDnrUzKcehdDBS1M0aSoVqLeljcRGl34tnz_bpJxll2BOhxr_S1FTxhfI-bJQ43p57o-yBubschrbEviunTZjO1osdH90TmhI9VIG4TsnxKLn6SofnuOYlh3JWAqvTiQs/s450/Engel+centre.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="315" data-original-width="450" height="224" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiftq9ioO6SJArDDnrUzKcehdDBS1M0aSoVqLeljcRGl34tnz_bpJxll2BOhxr_S1FTxhfI-bJQ43p57o-yBubschrbEviunTZjO1osdH90TmhI9VIG4TsnxKLn6SofnuOYlh3JWAqvTiQs/s320/Engel+centre.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>ENGEL Machinery (Thailand) in Bangkok has a new home.

in a while, a revolutionary product comes along and changes everything. FIMIC,
the Italian company known as the specialist in automatic self-cleaning melt
filters, has been able to introduce a few of these into the world in the last
two decades. In 1996, it introduced the first scrapper technology and this new
technical solution did not just change FIMIC’s core business, it changed the
whole plastic recycling market’s approach to simple, economical and continuous
melt filtration. <p></p><p>FIMIC
recently held the launch of its latest breakthrough solution for the recycling
process. Ms. Aria Chen, FIMIC Regional Sales Manager, talks about how FIMIC has
been innovating to provide excellent options for its customers and in support
of the global plastics industry’s drive towards intensified recycling. Here are some interesting points in her discussion. </p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span lang="IT">FIMIC has been offering solutions for the plastics
recycling sector. What are these and how do they ensure that your customers
achieve their production goals?</span></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span lang="IT">Ms. Chen:
</span></b><span lang="IT">FIMIC melt filter specialists have been able
to develop other solutions to target highly contaminated plastic materials,
especially post-industrial and post-consumer plastics. They are continuously
aiming at designing and developing new technical solutions to provide those who
choose FIMIC technology as part of their more efficient line of work and
productivity.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Today, FIMIC
is the only company on the market that specialises in melt filtration with a
range of five different types of automatic melt filters, five different
technologies designed to match each customer’s requirements with each chosen
based on the final application, the required filtration level, the material to
be processed and the required hourly production.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The RAS
system is a scraping filter known for its flexibility and strength. Using two
blades and one screen only, is able to scrape all contamination types, and
efficiently reprocess both post-industrial and post- consumer materials thanks
to the adjustable discharge valve system. Following the success of the RAS
filter, the introduction of the ERA filter has responded to the need for double
filtration in certain applications, saving on investments and consumption by
performing a double filtration step in a single machine with two consecutive
filtration chambers.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">RAS+REF, the
melt filter that introduced FIMIC’s technology to the plastic recycling
industry, enhanced with the possibility to work in backflush mode, can in fact
operate in two different ways: in scraping mode or in backflush mode, providing
more options to anyone wishing to process materials with mesh, punched or laser
screens, representing an ideal option in case the customer is also into
reprocessing clean materials other than dirty ones only.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The TEN melt
filter is the innovation of the first automatic screen changer, and allows
continuous filtration on woven mesh, eliminating material build-ups and reduction
of output with the additional option of adjusting the mesh output to guarantee
regularity and quality of post-industrial waste alongside the chance to avoid
constant supervision of the operator, making daily work much simpler.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b></b></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhk2OthhBxdyXTIEi4NLI3mcAeOANBXdb89RRZnd8YEOUfWUaq_Zwe5ktqX3yiIKC2_tqFAWY0iS0e1GxJsycY1Zmmh6D9VRqm0L48Js1i6VrArGiZMlLw_W09Z1ckzMx_x00I5Qt7yAN81/s450/Diag1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="300" data-original-width="450" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhk2OthhBxdyXTIEi4NLI3mcAeOANBXdb89RRZnd8YEOUfWUaq_Zwe5ktqX3yiIKC2_tqFAWY0iS0e1GxJsycY1Zmmh6D9VRqm0L48Js1i6VrArGiZMlLw_W09Z1ckzMx_x00I5Qt7yAN81/s320/Diag1.jpg" width="320" /></a></b></div><b><br /><span lang="IT"><br /></span></b><p></p><p class="MsoNormal"><b><span lang="IT">Given the continuously evolving demands of the
plastics recycling sector, how has FIMIC responded?</span></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span lang="IT">Ms. Chen: </span></b><span lang="IT">These days there’s no end to the amount of material to be recycled, and
yet it is necessary to keep really high-quality standards for the end product.
That’s why FIMIC designed a really unique melt filter, representing the
culmination of its technology and the expertise that made FIMIC the filtration
specialists, the largest melt filter on the market: GEM, the twin melt filter
that works twice as much with its unmatched filtration surface and using just
two parallel filtering screens guaranteeing better results than anything else
on the market, an ideal application for high-throughput recycling lines.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The plastics
recycling market is booming for some years already due to a variety of factors
acting altogether. Consumers are getting more and more sensitive to
environmental protection as well as the need to establish a circular economy
for plastics, hence the use of more recycled plastics has become acceptable in
the production of new plastic products.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The major
quantity of waste plastics is post-consumer, which is of course very
contaminated. To reach high quality recycled plastics from contaminated waste,
you need automatic technologies to filter out impurities and contaminations
from the plastic flow. That’s where FIMIC technologies can help more and that’s
one of the reasons of their success.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span lang="IT"><br /></span></b></p><p class="MsoNormal"><b><span lang="IT">What revolutionary technology is FIMIC’s
latest contribution and how is this going to enhance plastics recycling?</span></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span lang="IT">Ms. Chen:</span></b><span lang="IT"> This year, FIMIC is introducing a
revolutionary application, an innovative technology and a breakthrough solution
for the recycling process. This product is a reflection of how FIMIC is going
to reinvent the working process of those who recycle plastics.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The latest
technology developed by the FIMIC specialists in automatic self-cleaning melt
filters is a revolutionary machine, a screw pump that allows to easily
transport plastic melt from the extruder to the filter without using gears with
a single screw. This technology requires very low maintenance, the ideal
solution for those seeking to achieve the highest possible quality out of their
recycling lines, significantly lowering maintenance and operational costs.</p><p class="MsoNormal">Everybody
knows that regular gear pumps used in plastics recycling are very sensitive to
contaminations, getting damaged very easily by contaminants especially when
using post-consumer plastics. Because of this, constant maintenance is required
and often, it is also needed to install a safety filter to protect the gear
pump itself, with significant increase in investment, manpower, and maintenance
costs. Additionally, gears must be periodically replaced by the operator, a
further downtime leading to operation losses.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5ntZZin80zF3pOYa9XFQ0Z1Sy8FWrR48z-vp48HEufgJJwHDdw1XdC8DnUBCq9u0Ecjh8Ir9KMYhj97EdCXewIte2rcmm6nDG_GuWoKdFK5qzVHBYkl0BnsxPMbVnXBP_5VUdnh_PfNAC/s449/Dia2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="309" data-original-width="449" height="220" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5ntZZin80zF3pOYa9XFQ0Z1Sy8FWrR48z-vp48HEufgJJwHDdw1XdC8DnUBCq9u0Ecjh8Ir9KMYhj97EdCXewIte2rcmm6nDG_GuWoKdFK5qzVHBYkl0BnsxPMbVnXBP_5VUdnh_PfNAC/s320/Dia2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><p class="MsoNormal">The FIMIC’s
“SPA” screw pump allows considerable savings, because operational costs are
reduced to a very minimum. In fact, there is no need for maintenance, nor to
install a safety filter for pump protection, nor expensive spare gears that the
operator will no longer be forced to replace.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">SPA’s
operational simplicity is just maximum. Regular gear pumps are complex to
operate, while the SPA is easy to use and does not require periodic
replacements by the operators. It can be installed either before or after the
filter, being perfect for applications which require a double filtration step,
or to help twin-screw extruders to build up enough pressure without melt return
and requiring no safety filter to protect it. FIMIC SPA installed before the
filter allows it to protect the twin-screw extruder used especially in
compounding applications and installed after the filter allows to stabilise the
pressure of the material and to maximise the productivity of the filter and the
extruder itself.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Cambria, serif; font-size: 12pt;">SPA combines both FIMIC’s typical high
engineering standards and the highest quality of manufacturing materials, to
offer a superior, reliable, and high-performance product. SPA’s innovative
operation guarantees to all players in the recycling industry significant
savings in operational costs, as well as an excellent final result. </span></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7149601536807324669.post-75753257948631453802021-09-13T11:34:00.000+08:002021-09-13T11:34:13.050+08:00Forwell Quick Mold Change System and its advantages<p> There are many good reasons why a reliable quick mold change system must be integrated in a plastic processing operation. Improved efficiency that brings about higher productivity is one major objective along with meeting the very basic concerns of processors such as energy-reduction, less manpower usage, easy maintenance and operation. </p><p>For those engaged in injection molding, it is worth to keep in mind these factors when choosing a good quick mold change system. The first is the supplier’s background and history – how long has the supplier been providing quick mold change system to the market and its reputation among those in the industry. Another key consideration is the referral from other customers of the quick mold system supplier, whether these customers have been satisfied by the product and their feedback on the features and services offered. While price and quality are relevant factors, the ability of the supplier to provide timely after sales services and warranty is also important along with the stability of product, safety and customization features. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinJdAyHCpZW_tc7ajcBE-RahRM368qZWE9Rbeq6PBCZb3GbfhmdS0L7YezRRJ6UJZy8IfBYdO0ttAb09sO1aBv32VAgGqfrt8bOOUJH-9zNxtGKsAnYFnID03a9y66dl1aS_uiAT0TH4wo/s450/QMCS-1+web.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="286" data-original-width="450" height="203" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinJdAyHCpZW_tc7ajcBE-RahRM368qZWE9Rbeq6PBCZb3GbfhmdS0L7YezRRJ6UJZy8IfBYdO0ttAb09sO1aBv32VAgGqfrt8bOOUJH-9zNxtGKsAnYFnID03a9y66dl1aS_uiAT0TH4wo/s320/QMCS-1+web.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><p><b>Multiple benefits guaranteed</b></p><p>Quick mold change systems are becoming a standard for large manufacturers looking to increase production efficiency, and improve overall working environments. an area where the requirements for sophistication go hand in hand with improved
efficiency and end-product quality. Companies engaged in plastics injection
moulding share the common goals of reduced downtime and higher productivity.
They look at solutions that will enable them to raise their output, increase
the variety and quality of their products and operate at reduced costs. The
duration and completion of the different processes has a great impact on this
since if time is lost in any production function, this can represent a delay in
delivery – a scenario that is not acceptable in a highly competitive and
demanding industry.<p></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing">The quick moulding change is an essential part of the
whole injection moulding process as it aims to ensure uninterrupted operation.
In the plastic industry, the idea of integrating quick change of moulds in
injection moulding is key to guarantee high productivity at reduced costs.</p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing">The current trends that point towards rising demand in
small batches production and diversification of plastic products output call
for an increased in the number of injection mould changes during the production
process. As a result, plastics manufacturers need the equipment and tools that allow
them to achieve high levels of efficiency that the market demands.</p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing">One of the most important procedures in plastic moulding
is changing the moulds. To ensure that the changing of moulds and eventual
operation of the injection moulding system meets the required standards, it is
important to start off by drawing up a list of the needed tools and equipment
available in-house and those that are to be sourced outside. It is also
essential to have the mould checked prior to installation and regularly when in
use to identify the mould needed for new production. Another important task is the preparation for
resin change which requires determining the colour and type of resin to be used
for each batch or mould change. </p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing">Prior to changing the mould, the production set up should
be checked to determine if the mould is in good condition and meets the production requirements. The details on
the mould change must be recorded, including the parts needed and the
production time. Regular monitoring of the mould condition should be done to
guarantee good end-product quality and operational efficiency. Factors such as the installation of water
connection, mould cleaning and mould assembly must also be considered. For
instance, the cleaning of the mould must be performed to extend the life span
of the mould and make sure that the injection moulded products or parts meet
the quality standards. The removal and
replacement of the mould in the machine must also be done efficiently and
fast. This is made possible by utilising
trolleys when performing this function.</p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing">One of the most attractive options for saving time and
improving productivity is quick mould change systems. The installation of these
systems in injection moulding machines generates multiple benefits. Direct
benefits include: less time for changing the mould; the ability to manufacture
various products in small batches; less inventory; improved productivity and
product quality; and lower labour costs.</p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing">Other benefits include: the ability to achieve mould and
press standardisation; greater security; fast delivery; and better working
conditions and environment.</p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing">The quick mould change system from Forwell is
hydraulically controlled, easy, and safe compared to traditional systems. Also,
even if the power is suspended, the system can continue working for at least 96
hours.</p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing">The design of Forwell solutions stands out above other
brands. The clamps have waterproof, dustproof, pressure-holding function, and
longer clamping stroke. The service life is longer and the safety is greater.
The application is more extensive and flexible.</p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing"><b>Forwell:

the design and production of customised plastic equipment. Diing Kuen's
machines are 100% made in Taiwan and 99% are exported to overseas. With its
worldwide technical agents and service locations, Diing Kuen is able to provide
immediate technical support to customers despite time differences and
cross-border difficulties, making it an invisible giant in the global
cooperation of the plastic industry. </p><p>The dedication to customer service has contributed to
Diing Kuen's reputation for high quality. The design concept of the machine
takes into consideration the diversified characteristics of the customer’s
production site. Not only does Diing
Kuen manufacture equipment that meets general market needs, it also provides
expertise in responding to customer’s raw material characteristics, unique
formulas, and other kinds of raw material in diversified international markets. </p><p>During the delivery stage, Diing Kuen invites the
customer to the assembly site for equipment handover and actual testing of the
operating process. In the case of monofilament machines, the overall length of
the equipment can reach more than 50 metres, or even 70 metres. The stability
of the production is one of the key factors; Diing Kuen equipment, known for
its high quality, must be checked by the customer to carefully review the
production details such as capacity accuracy, performance stability, etc. to
confirm that they meet the specific requirements, and then go through Diing Kuen's
meticulous disassembly process to properly pack the machine before shipment.</p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMP0zZJG4_2C4nVCpX0wtex97fGikHwON8PdXcMiJIKbqPWq1MPjRX21THOaoy_5u7vDuL5oRuTEYft3tpCHaDsdMvVSWwHsKKJal1EtMoGwngqLDuspA2kE0YgWa4PzTOQGwel-5LHf63/s450/AI03778A+web.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="339" data-original-width="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMP0zZJG4_2C4nVCpX0wtex97fGikHwON8PdXcMiJIKbqPWq1MPjRX21THOaoy_5u7vDuL5oRuTEYft3tpCHaDsdMvVSWwHsKKJal1EtMoGwngqLDuspA2kE0YgWa4PzTOQGwel-5LHf63/s320/AI03778A+web.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><p></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div>Once the machine arrives at the customer's production
site, Diing Kuen sends its professional handover teams to the site to assist
the customer in assembly, adjustment, and testing. In addition to providing
good after-sales service, the durability is also a highlight of Diing Kuen’s
products. Generally speaking, the performance and lifespan of the machine
depends on the quality of manufacturing. Today, customers following Diing
Kuen's instructions are running their machines for nearly 20 years. <div><br /></div><div>Chairman Kun-Chih Wei always instructs the Diing Kuen
team that, “Our quality must be top-notch.” When the equipment is delivered
without problems, the customer will for sure not turn back and complain.
Therefore, during the design, production, and shipment stages, Diing Kuen
actively anticipates potential problems, carries out trouble shooting in the
Taiwan production base, and proactively invests more in the initial quality
control to avoid problems once the machine is delivered to the customer’s base.<p class="MsoNoSpacing"><b>Innovations boost advantages of monofilament machine</b></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing">The secret to Diing Kuen's simple success is to never
stop innovating. The semi-finished products produced by its monofilament
machine are used in a wide range of industries. For example, in the
aquaculture, fishing and ocean shipping industries, the fishing nets, fishing
lines, cage culture, and ropes used in these industries require elasticity,
toughness, and tensile force of at least 8-12 gpd; Diing Kuen's monofilament
machines not only produce monofilaments of 8-12 gpd or more, but some Diing
Kuen’s special monofilament machine models can produce up to 15 gpd. The
tensile force of each fibre can be increased so if the customer compare two
ropes of the same size, which can generally withstand 5 metric tonnes, Diing
Kuen's equipment can produce special ropes that can withstand 10 metric tonnes.
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing">The mechanical design of the Diing Kuen machine makes it
stand above the rest. In order to meet the market's demand for 24-hour
uninterrupted production, the equipment needs to operate at a high speed of
200-250 m/min. or even 400 m/min. during the production of monofilament, which
highlights the importance of Diing Kuen's equipment for high stability and
continuous yarn. Diing Kuen's machines enable customers to avoid raw materials
wastage and save time and cost, thus creating high quality, improved precision
and superior tensile force products.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9tnauAvv0PgqOI-Uils0RZEIv13VaxQ_vp_lFMsWqR_xRYY6A8X9KdZdKqEJ4OeA8oJEVKoAOPfRYi4OaiKuJF3sze7e8iqhDAHL8KvGrOz9UvN0XZwlXinsUrzFWknyNqxfIW8VgsCyY/s450/FYFH+web.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="319" data-original-width="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9tnauAvv0PgqOI-Uils0RZEIv13VaxQ_vp_lFMsWqR_xRYY6A8X9KdZdKqEJ4OeA8oJEVKoAOPfRYi4OaiKuJF3sze7e8iqhDAHL8KvGrOz9UvN0XZwlXinsUrzFWknyNqxfIW8VgsCyY/s320/FYFH+web.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><blockquote style="border: none; margin: 0 0 0 40px; padding: 0px;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div></blockquote><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b>Strong market position amidst changing trends</b></div><p></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><b><o:p></o:p></b></p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing">In recent years, the rising global awareness to protect
the environment has increased acceptance of green power policy, power
restriction policy, reduced carbon footprint, and environmental labeling. With
its global vision, Diing Kuen has solved the dilemma of power restriction
policy for some customers, and has successfully increased production capacity
by 30%. </p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing">As the Asian market becomes more focused on achieving a
circular economy, countries are putting forward plastic waste restriction
policies. Diing Kuen has already invested in the development of industrial
environmental protection product lines a few years ago. Today, its
sophisticated and innovative technology is able to meet the specific precision
requirements of customers for high quality and sustainable products in the
market.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing">In the wake of the global digital automation trend, Diing
Kuen retains its leading position. The company not only improves the process
that used to require manual calibration, but also introduces the automation
system to control temperature, pressure, equipment monitoring, equipment life
and maintenance. In addition, Diing Kuen's equipment can collect big data
through IOT technology and provide timely feedback to the cell phones of
customers to keep track of production progress, reduce the chance of operator
errors, and minimise reliance on human resources for quality control.</p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing">As Diing Kuen Chairman Wei once said, "We want to
help our customers break through the boundaries of the market entry. The
company's corporate culture believes that it is not just about securing orders
from large corporations, but also about cultivating relationships, enhancing
communication, and helping customers upgrade their industries, which invariably
enhances Diing Kuen's own strength.”</p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing">Each quarter, Diing Kuen conducts a "technical
tour" to visit customers’ production sites around the world to perform
maintenance, inspection and technical consultations to proactively explore the
needs to develop new products. In terms of after-sales service, Diing Kuen
stresses the importance of quick response to customers to maintain its market
competitiveness and pursue its objective of further innovations – a quality
that makes Diing Kuen rank among the industrial powers in Europe.</p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><o:p></o:p></p>

The YE I brand has competed with foreign brands, becoming known for their cost-reduction features, price competitiveness, stable performance and excellent after sales services.</p><p>The company has also taken the current plastic waste problem as an urgent task to offer its unique innovative solutions. “As the global plastic pollution problem becomes more and more serious, YE I is committed to persuading our existing customers in the field of plastic recycling to invest in the blown film industry. By using 100% recycled plastic pellets produced by themselves and purchasing an additional YE I three-layer co-extrusion blown film machine, it will become possible for customers to produce garbage bags. It not only helps them make more profits, but also conforms to the concept of environmental protection. YE I has successfully installed more than 20 machines all over the world, including Europe, this way,” according to Mr. Huang. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhprDaGujpYzyFX-aIq2Pz4i8mK8JsQTF9_Wa5zORELPkotFwF5E3sfb23VeVvuUwa5rq0bxnUcWzUUjrFC3d32K7o3AznMcEipJaHYVOLqlTHqdyrrPbJ8NZwfG9Fn0gPBdc6s-K7OWix0/s450/HFPP-5+web.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="345" data-original-width="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhprDaGujpYzyFX-aIq2Pz4i8mK8JsQTF9_Wa5zORELPkotFwF5E3sfb23VeVvuUwa5rq0bxnUcWzUUjrFC3d32K7o3AznMcEipJaHYVOLqlTHqdyrrPbJ8NZwfG9Fn0gPBdc6s-K7OWix0/s320/HFPP-5+web.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><p>YE I's range of recycling machines are known for their world-class design and operational excellence. The company's recycling machines make use of blown air to avoid issues related to water pollution and water content in the pellet that may change the structure of the granules. This enables the production of high quality pellets from recycled materials that can serve as input to produce plastic bags.</p><p>As more customers opt to set up their own recycling plant in-house, YE I has been encouraging them to further invest in blown film machines that will use as input the recycled pellets to produce bags.</p><p>An example of its accomplishment is the five-layer blown film machine that it sold to a customer in Latin America. YE I's five-layer blown film machine uses PP as raw material to produce medical drip bags/infusion bags, thus replacing the traditional PVC material being used in the industry. “This ability to use PP as material eliminates people's doubt on the toxicity and wins the trust of customers by its high efficiency and quality. The customer's final product has been sold to the European market,” Mr. Huang explained. YE I's blown film machines are known for their benefits of lowering production costs and meeting strict health standards. In the case of the customer from Latin America, the five-layer blown film machine enables the production of drip bags/infusion bags needed in today’s medical sector.</p><p>Other blown film lines from YE I give the flexibility of adding colours to the film thus giving the barrier film packaging the ability to block sun or light. In addition, it allows vacuum packaging of food products, water-proof and farm packaging of items that require high standard plastic qualities. Lightweighting has also become possible without sacrificing the strength of the films. These films are ideal for the production of plastic bags that are mostly made for shopping malls and supermarkets. As YE I has introduced several processing equipment from Japan and Germany to produce the most important core parts, the overall function and stability of the blown film machine is enhanced that the film has both thickness balance and quality toughness.</p><p>YE I has been monitoring the developments in the global market for plastic recycling and blown film extrusion towards sustainable production. With its strong focus on research and development, this industry leader is expected to bring more breakthrough production solutions to benefit the plastics industry in the years to come.</p><p><br /></p><p><b>YE I Machinery Factory Co., Ltd.</b></p><p>Tel: +886-6-2536066</p><p>Fax: +886-6-2543717</p><p>E-mail: service@yei.com.tw</p><p>Website: http://www.yei.com.tw</p><p><br /></p><p> </p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7149601536807324669.post-51358223965766755792021-05-05T14:38:00.002+08:002021-05-05T14:38:33.952+08:00YE I: Improving the efficiency of plastics production<p class="MsoNoSpacing"></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWXdONamzDEZ39sGNwtbaNDDPDtFK0P5V-vFBGYBXfujWej-zY-BN7xlN3aZEP1NcIpEfWM8Zyzhd_B7oyJvkgRxv2VbXAuuRl8c_JNvJiiIjZZZI5o-SF330rQFY4_bnSLRjCne4sZNI8/s450/HFPP-5+web.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="345" data-original-width="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWXdONamzDEZ39sGNwtbaNDDPDtFK0P5V-vFBGYBXfujWej-zY-BN7xlN3aZEP1NcIpEfWM8Zyzhd_B7oyJvkgRxv2VbXAuuRl8c_JNvJiiIjZZZI5o-SF330rQFY4_bnSLRjCne4sZNI8/s320/HFPP-5+web.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />The plastics industry is at a crossroads as it strives to

largest market in the global rubber industry due to the rapid expansion of the automobile
industry alongside rising demand for rubber in the production of medical
supplies, household goods, industrial products, building and construction
materials, among others. While the COVID-19 pandemic has severely affected the
supply chain for rubber products manufacturing in 2020, operations of rubber
producers in the region have re-started as countries set health protocols in place.
Judging by the importance that rubber played in the fight against the
coronavirus, the industry is widely projected to sustain its growth momentum in
2021 and beyond. The global rubber market size is expected to surge from 2020
to 2025, with annual growth of 7.7% during the period to reach $54.9 billion by
2025, according to Market Research Reports.
In Asia Pacific, innovations, strategic market expansion and product
diversification are key factors that are expected to push the rubber industry
into sustained growth. Representatives of two leading companies engaged in
rubber production share their views on market trends and industry directions in
2021.</p><p><b><span lang="EN-PH"><br /></span></b></p><p><b><span lang="EN-PH">Medical sector drives demand for efficient systems</span></b></p><p><b></b></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgB1mtCryMoVwX13suemjjZsxvUFQcxCxYXLZy5pI6y_fjXOMrPpsrY2iV050kig_LXvYogFx67UtT9epuOY3DE3eD2AMe3MtxyuJQqlUaSflsYCDx7jCeJZpCV4NHq_N6lNP0m52rEU-H-/s400/Daniel+Yang.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="380" data-original-width="400" height="190" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgB1mtCryMoVwX13suemjjZsxvUFQcxCxYXLZy5pI6y_fjXOMrPpsrY2iV050kig_LXvYogFx67UtT9epuOY3DE3eD2AMe3MtxyuJQqlUaSflsYCDx7jCeJZpCV4NHq_N6lNP0m52rEU-H-/w200-h190/Daniel+Yang.jpg" title="Mr. Daniel Yang, Manager, Jing Day Machinery Industrial Co., Ltd." width="200" /></a></b></div><p></p><p></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing">The huge demand for rubber and silicone moulded products
for medical device components with the requirement in several industries such
as automotive, electronics, motorcycle and sport equipment industries, have
given impetus for machinery manufacturers to innovate. In the area of rubber
and silicone injection moulding, Jing Day Machinery Industrial Co., Ltd. saw
demand for rubber products escalating during the pandemic which also pushed requirements
for customised production systems. “The requirements of today’s rubber
manufacturers call for high level of customisation, in-depth knowledge in the
manufacturing process to provide excellent solutions to the end users.
Particularly, the recent needs for medical applications such as breathing masks
and bags, nebulizers, medical membrane keypads, O-rings, prefilled syringes
reveal the importance of skilled manufacturers in this field. Thus, there is a
crucial need for LSR injection moulding machines which can process medical
grade silicones,” according to Mr. Daniel Yang, Manager at Jing Day Machinery
Industrial Co., Ltd (JING DAY). The company has been in the forefront of silicone
and rubber injection moulding machine sector in Taiwan and its rubber and
silicone processing machinery portfolio helps to create solutions not only for
the medical equipment industry, but also for many industries like automotive,
electronics, motorcycle parts and sports equipment in various parts of the
world. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><br /></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing">JING DAY also expects the Industry 4.0 and digitalisation
trends to retain their importance among manufacturers in 2021 and beyond. “As
we see sustained move towards achieving Industry 4.0 and digitalisation, JING
DAY aims to meet these future trends by investing <span style="background: white;">30% of the mechanical production capacity </span>on
technology research and development in terms of Industry 4.0, in order for us
to quickly respond to customers’ requirements for customised machinery for
various industries, particularly the medical industry,” Mr. Yang shares.</p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing">JING DAY’s silicone rubber injection moulding machines
and hydraulic moulding machines for the applications of various industries run
in 60 different countries including Europe and America today, and market share
is growing day by day. Since 80% of the production has been exported to the
world, the custom design machines are mostly demanded among JING DAY’s
customers. The regional markets and the industries JING DAY serves require high
precision and stable production output.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>HMI
and PLC features come as machine standard. “Besides, customisable nozzle design
helps customers to control material flow and achieve stable outputs. JING DAY’s
machines are suitable for natural and synthetic rubber, oil-resistant rubber,
heat resistant rubber, and reclaimed rubber. Moreover, the company can also
help customers with upgrading old moulds to integrate JING DAY’s machines,
which saves the customer 20% to 30% of the production and labour costs,” Mr.
Yan explains.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing">The company sees continued reliance on strategic customer
support as the pandemic remains unabated. “Buying machinery especially during
the outbreak is a sensitive process; international buyers have several concerns
like the installation of the machinery, after-sales services, part and
maintenance requirements. All of these are being addressed by JING DAY as we
expect to meet customers’ concerns continuously through different ways to
overcome the obstacles,” Mr. Yang says.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"><br /></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: left;"><b><span lang="EN-PH">Silicones as game-changers<o:p></o:p></span></b></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-PH"></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7RF9aOCq7ykbK210jMX2TbfQT9XX7a7-Mfsf6gJDlCoEIDN_gtwHWZiAKl0Nz9bsm4bHudunUlfaXJUh7_27q76_QUcYd-PONu7abU80fF8OMbEk3nJI2htAMwK7hnO4vpbTJa65qZj2k/s350/Gimber_Christian_Wacker.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="340" data-original-width="350" height="194" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7RF9aOCq7ykbK210jMX2TbfQT9XX7a7-Mfsf6gJDlCoEIDN_gtwHWZiAKl0Nz9bsm4bHudunUlfaXJUh7_27q76_QUcYd-PONu7abU80fF8OMbEk3nJI2htAMwK7hnO4vpbTJa65qZj2k/w200-h194/Gimber_Christian_Wacker.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>The coronavirus pandemic has impacted our
lives and work environment in ways we have never experienced before, according
to Christian Gimber, Vice President Engineering Silicones at WACKER. “However,
the company quickly adopted every measure necessary to keep operations up and
running. Our sites have been subject to strict hygiene and distancing
rules. We are continuously adjusting regulations on business travel
and many of us are working from home to avoid taking risks,” Mr. Gimber
relates. Compared with companies in other sectors and given the difficult
conditions amid the global Covid-19 pandemic, WACKER has weathered the
crisis reasonably well. The company also started an efficiency program
called Shape the Future. The aim is to strengthen its competitive edge, make
WACKER leaner, faster and more flexible and cut costs significantly.<o:p></o:p><p></p><p></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-PH"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-PH">Electromobility, digitalisation and
advanced medical applications were major trends in 2020 and will remain in
place in 2021. High performance materials such as silicones are important game
changers in these industries. For example, silicone based gap fillers have
become indispensible thermal interface materials in electric vehicles. They
improve heat dissipation and thus ensure an effective thermal management of
batteries and electronic components. “Silicones are also used in sophisticated
applications such as large instrument-panel displays, restaurant-menu
touchscreens, multi-functional sports watches and, above all, in the automotive
industry. In every vehicle class, car makers are increasingly turning to
ever-larger displays which are increasingly bonded with silicone adhesives due
to their stability and resistance to environmental influences,” Mr. Gimber
explains. Two experts of the Centre of Electronics Excellence in Seoul were
recently awarded WACKER’s Innovation Award for developing novel
UV-crosslinkable silicone gels for high-quality non-reflective displays.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-PH"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-PH">The industry will have to deal with rising
regulatory requirements in the future. “Let me give you an example: Last year,
we developed a new flame-retardant solid silicone rubber which meets the new
European fire-safety codes for rolling-stock components. This was a real
breakthrough. Fabricators now have a certified compound approved for this new
standard. The need to reduce the content of volatile components is another
example. In 2016, WACKER was one of the first companies to start an initiative
to cut VOC levels in its liquid silicone rubber grades by approx. 90 percent.
Our efforts were extremely successful. Since 2019, all LSR grades manufactured
at our German sites meet this threshold which redefines industrial standards
for liquid silicone rubber globally,” according to Mr. Gimber. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-PH"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-PH">For 2021, WACKER’s focus was and continues
to be on high growth sectors such as automotive with electronics and e-mobility
as its main drivers as well as the medical industry and energy. These
industries are highly innovative and need materials that offer outstanding
mechanical properties, can be tailored to specific needs, meet regulatory
requirements and enable cost-efficient industrial scale production of
components. Silicone is often the material of choice for manufacturers who are
juggling with these requirements and wish to find a reliable and competitive
solution. For example, WACKER recently developed the first self-adhesive
silicone rubber which offers low friction surfaces after curing. This is an
advantage for parts such as plugs or connectors which need smooth, but oil-free
surfaces for mounting or assembly purposes or even components for food contact
applications. Our two-in-one grade is an ideal solution as it is self-bonding,
offers low-friction surfaces and enables cost-effective large-scale production
of injection-moulded hard/soft composites.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-PH"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-PH">“One of the innovations we will continue to
pursue in 2021 are our electroactive silicone laminates. They consist of
several ultrathin silicone film layers. Each layer is coated with an
electrically conductive material prior to lamination. The result is a flexible
electroactive capacitor which changes its size when electrical voltage is
applied. This principle can be used in valves, switches, sensor-actor
components or in interactive game consoles. We are currently setting up an
industrial scale manufacturing line for these laminates and intend to ramp up
the facility in 2021,” Mr. Gimber shares. Being the first chemical company to
produce silicone films as well as laminates, WACKER will be able to close the
existing gap in the supply chain for this innovative technology.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-PH"> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal">

repeatedly expanded its foothold in several regions. This includes investments
in its technical centres and in production facilities in Korea, China and India
as well as in Germany where it operates two fully integrated production sites. WACKER

plastic content in their products has created increasing demand for sustainable
additives. In this area, Clariant has launched sustainable material solutions
aimed at supporting the transition towards a circular economy. In the <a href="http://edms.industrysourcing.com/ezine/20/12/irna.html" target="_blank">December issue of the International Plastics News for Asia</a>,
Mr. Darren Soo, Head of Sales Asia of BU Additives, shares how Clariant has
been introducing bio-based additives and their benefits to the Asian market. <p></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing"><o:p>The interview started with the question on the driving force or inspiration behind </o:p>Clariant's move to offer sustainable material
solutions including bio-based additives. Mr. Soo explained that: "At
Clariant, we see bioplastics as an important component towards reaching a
circular economy as they help to transition current consumption away from the
‘make, use, dispose of’ model, and we are taking a holistic approach to this
challenge. Our EcoCircle initiative supports the transition from a one-way
plastics value chain to a circular plastics economy by going beyond a simple
product focus, looking at the entire value chain, and identifying the most
sustainable and viable solutions for a circular plastics economy. This includes
the development of cutting-edge additives and biopolymers, and alliances to
push the expansion of bioplastics. In addition to plastic waste, climate change
is one of the biggest challenges we face, and biopolymers also help everyone in
the plastics value chain reduce CO2 emissions and their carbon footprints."</p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing">Bioplastics
have come a long way since their widespread introduction in the 1970’s but it
is true that in many applications they still fall behind petroleum-based
plastics when it comes to physical properties. As Mr. Soo puts it: "This is something that we are working on at
Clariant with business partners, such as Floreon. By integrating the benefits
of Clariant’s additives with Floreon’s proprietary PLA material solutions, our
exciting new collaboration aims to open up additional possibilities for plastic
manufacturers and brand owners to consider biopolymers as a viable, low carbon
footprint alternative to fossil-based plastics for both single-use and durable
applications. Markets set to benefit from the new enhanced grades include rigid
and flexible packaging, electrical & electronic equipment, hygiene
products, consumer goods and automotive." </p><p class="MsoNoSpacing">As stressed by Mr. Soo, Clariant additives really differentiate biopolymers while
still preserving the environmental benefits. They can protect mechanical
properties and ensure better heat aging performance and UV stability throughout
the biopolymer lifetime. They provide properties such as enhanced processing
through a larger window of processability and better thermal stability and
promote higher productivity via shorter cycle times.</p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><o:p></o:p></p>

The report further indicates that Asia Pacific injection molding machine market is expected to witness the highest expansion due to the rapidly growing automotive, packaging, consumer goods, healthcare, and electrical & electronics end-use industries in the region. While the impact of COVID-19 pandemic poses a major challenge to the industries, the injection molding machinery sector is expected to sustain its growth momentum given the important role of injection-molded plastic products in today’s lifestyle. </p><p><br /></p><p>As the current and even future trends tend to focus on performance, reliability and sustainability, the development of highly efficient injection molding systems that meet these targets has become the ultimate goal of every machinery producer. The highly demanding requirements of various industries have pushed the injection molding machinery sector to develop powerful machines capable of large-volume production at the lowest operating costs possible. Large injection molding machines are now the popular choice of plastics manufacturers aiming for high volume, speed and reliable operations.</p><p> </p><p>In this aspect, Chuan Lih Fa (CLF) has been meeting the plastics industry’s expectations with its range of injection molding machine models capable of low cost, reliable and sustainable operations. As the plastics industry takes a direction toward sustainability and smart manufacturing, CLF has gone beyond tradition to offer innovative plastics injection molding machine models with excellent structural designs to seal its leadership in the plastics industry.</p><p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dxf06wXEEuFSwVud7lrMfUfhka2nmNKRXdImi_wIE9XSsmUfZLC44013PoVwjzfZDpIPI-Y7fIOUaI-Xq8U0A' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div><br /><p><br /></p><p><b>TWII Series: a breakthrough in performance </b></p><p>Founded in 1966, CLF has been specializing in injection molding machines that are designed to respond to the plastics industry’s ever-changing requirements. Its portfolio of injection molding machine models are creating a big difference in the various applications for which they are intended to, as the machines have been developed to overcome many barriers in the injection molding process. CLF injection molding systems boast of stable performance, strong clamping force, combination of high-tech European and Japanese microprocessor controllers, German Siemens control system and servo motors – all of which contribute to their highly efficient operations.</p><p><br /></p><p>One such innovation is the TWII series with clamping force from 100-5000 tons. According to CLF Project Manager, Sam Lin: “The TWII Series is a large and powerful injection molding machine that has been the result of years of research and product development undertaken by CLF. The machine guarantees stable performance owing to its outward toggle type mechanism where the clamping force is concentrated at center to ensure minimum deformation of mold platen. The longer mold opening stroke allows for bigger installation space of the mold. Thanks to longer mold opening stroke, the machine model is very much suitable for deeper products.” </p><p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJjdb_Epm-K1M57xwubQCuGNEhDhsEROOrp3xOsW__XZwr05vEu0KfeWVmkOkmH9XEqUKasJH8qxQv7nNYRbPqajrbir1Q9MxQxViCXksqnhTIbItvc80GVkku_PuqgJ16IjxbwncTg6_k/s400/CLF2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="185" data-original-width="400" height="185" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJjdb_Epm-K1M57xwubQCuGNEhDhsEROOrp3xOsW__XZwr05vEu0KfeWVmkOkmH9XEqUKasJH8qxQv7nNYRbPqajrbir1Q9MxQxViCXksqnhTIbItvc80GVkku_PuqgJ16IjxbwncTg6_k/w400-h185/CLF2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p>Mr. Lin also stressed that the TWII Series features a 5-points toggle mechanism to enable fast and smooth mold opening and closing. The global injection molding machine market has seen tremendous changes over the years. As demands from such industries as automotive, packaging, medical and consumer goods manufacturing evolve, the capabilities and capacities of injection molding machinery also change to meet requirements. Thus, rubber and silicone injection molding has seen rapid improvement owing to the research and development (R&D) efforts of major players in this sector to design more advanced production systems. <br />
<br />
In Asia, many machinery makers are innovating and are now able to build their niche in a highly competitive market. One of them is JING DAY Machinery Industrial Co., LTD. (Jing Day), whose over 30 years of experience in designing rubber and silicone injection molding machinery for both domestic and foreign customers has earned it an enviable position in the industry. Jing Day has been able to strengthen its leadership in rubber and silicone injection molding technology that today, its JING DAY brand of machines are well known and are being operated in factories around the world.<br />
<br />
<b>An innovator from Asia’s fast-growing industrial sector</b><br />
Jing Day was founded in 1983 by Mr. Kun Ming Yang, at a time when rubber injection molding machines were not yet as common as plastic processing equipment. According to Mr. Daniel Yang, Manager at JING DAY Machinery Industrial Co., LTD: “When our founder, Mr. Kun Ming Yang, visited the K show in Germany, he realized that the market lacked customized machinery so he decided to make customized machines as the company's main products.”<br />
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5qBijldifkK9pR2iN13USAzS_KLVon3X4jdRYgi0RY0EjkR9PFXFlUY_R2vFEXNY9icUD8VyFJ0HaNJC8lwOvqMvp_erX9UmatL3PTVCAqQRZkVoWsde6JOVZN4LJZGGTdUIugkOrzNIK/s1600/Mr+Yang+web.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="272" data-original-width="241" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5qBijldifkK9pR2iN13USAzS_KLVon3X4jdRYgi0RY0EjkR9PFXFlUY_R2vFEXNY9icUD8VyFJ0HaNJC8lwOvqMvp_erX9UmatL3PTVCAqQRZkVoWsde6JOVZN4LJZGGTdUIugkOrzNIK/s1600/Mr+Yang+web.jpg" /></a></td></tr>

<br />
Customization offers the flexibility of adjusting the mechanical design and performance of machines based on customers’ specific requirements. Thus, Jing Day made up for the lack of customization capabilities of European and Japanese machines by designing and installing injection molding systems that cater to the more diverse product applications suited to the needs of various industries.<br />
<br />
<br />
Today, the rubber and silicone injection molding machines of Jing Day are being utilized in the medical industry in various regions, including Europe and America. “These markets operate in highly technical environment. With Jing Day’s customized machines, our customers can turn out products that can meet the stringent standards, such as for medical applications,” Mr. Yang explains. To date, around 20% of Jing Day’s output is sold to the domestic market, while 80% is exported to more than 60 countries worldwide. The JING DAY brand of machines are now in operation in Southeast Asia, Europe, America, South America and Africa. <br />
<br />
<b>Highly-efficient rubber and silicone injection molding</b><br />
Supplying the global market entails a lot of experience and innovation. Jing Day has been working closely with its customers to update old molds, add cold runners and then integrate these with the JING DAY injection molding machine. “These efforts enable our customers to save costs in purchasing new molds. And once completed and operational, the system needs only one person to operate four machines, which saves a total of 20-30% of manpower and operational costs,” Mr. Yang adds. Jing Day has been able to provide new life to old mold while successfully integrating the JING DAY automatic injection molding machine for the customer’s efficient production. <br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><i><span style="color: blue;">Mr. Joey Roi Bondoc, Senior Research Manager, Colliers International</span></i></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<i>In the latest issue of <a href="http://www.industrysourcing.com/magazine/irna/2020/2" target="_blank">International Plastics News for Asia</a>, we invited an industry expert, Joey Roi Bondoc, Senior Research Manager at Colliers International Philippines, to share his views on the F&B trends in Southeast Asia and how this could impact demand for plastics. </i><br />
<br />
Southeast Asia is one of the fastest growing economic blocs in the region. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) projects the region’s GDP to increase by about 5% in the next 12 months. The continued growth in the disposable incomes of families has been driving demand for food and beverage (F&B) and this has been spilling over to allied segments, such as plastics and packaging. These countries have either reached or are about to reach demographic sweet spot – i.e. millennials with higher disposable incomes comprising bulk of their workforce. Major economies in the region such as Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, and the Philippines have been fueling demand for F&B packaging and this is likely to be sustained in the near to medium term on the back of stable macroeconomic fundamentals. As a result, several firms engaged in F&B and plastics manufacturing and packaging have been eyeing the Southeast Asian region as their next major market.<br />
<br />
<b>Keen interest in Thailand </b><br />
In Thailand there are enormous opportunities for plastics manufacturing; a great majority of these hinge on a strong food and beverage (F&B) segment. According to the Thailand Board of Investments, some $1.6 billion of investments were funneled into the sector from 2015 to 2018. This is shown by strong investments in Thailand’s Food Science Park which has attracted investments from several companies headquartered in the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, Taiwan, and Singapore. The growth is likely to be anchored on sustained economic expansion as the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) is projected to rise by 3% in 2020, according to ADB.<br />
<br />
F&B manufacturing, which partly propels the packaging sector, is one of the fastest growing industrial subsegments in Thailand. According to Colliers International Thailand, food is one of the priority areas for industrial investments, along with biofuels, biochemicals, and medical equipment. Investors from China and Japan have expressed interest to invest more in Thailand’s manufacturing segment and this should further benefit key manufacturing segments, such as food and packaging. Another interesting development for Thailand is the planned implementation of Thailand 4.0 which covers the development of a new model for industrial development and ensures that the Thailand food industry is able to meet the constantly-evolving global demands. This initiative should result in greater industrial space absorption in the country.<br />
<br />
<b>Indonesia offers vast potential </b><br />
Being the third fastest growing economy in the Group of 20 (G20), there is tremendous potential for Indonesia’s plastic industry especially as this is driven by its thriving F&B sector. Its Industry Ministry estimates that Indonesia’s F&B sector is currently worth $4.6 billion. The country is estimated to have over 260 million consumers. Among the products that are enjoying strong demand in the country are fruits, vegetables, seafood, gourmet food, tea, coffee, and packaged food. The latter indicates enormous opportunities for plastics packaging. Government data also show that continuously growing domestic economy and upgrading lifestyles (professionals choosing convenience) have raised the demand for packaged food in the country.<br />
<br />
The F&B sector is one of the fastest growing manufacturing sectors in the country, along with leather and footwear, machinery and equipment, and textile and textile products. Its contribution to the Indonesian economy has steadily been growing, being the largest non-oil contributor to the country’s GDP. With sustained macroeconomic fundamentals and a mobile and young workforce, F&B is expected to grow steadily and this should propel the demand for more packaging products in the country. Indonesia’s GDP grew 5.2% in 2018 and ADB sees the country’s economy expanding by an estimated 4.7% in 2020. <br />
<br />
<b>Malaysia’s large food exports market</b><br />
Over the next 12 months, the World Bank expects the Malaysian economy to grow by about 4.5%. The country has a large F&B export market, with oils and fats among its major export products. Domestically, its F&B market is driven by cocoa and chocolate products, fishery products, processed fruits and vegetables, food ingredients, and herbs and spices. A key driver of Malaysia’s F&B sector is the Halal industry as the country intends to become a major Halal hub in the world. Malaysia aims to corner bigger slice of the global market that is estimated at $2.3 trillion.<br />
<br />
Over the near to medium term, the Malaysian government is projecting a moderate growth for its packaged F&B sector. This is partly driven by continuously increasing disposable incomes of a young workforce and the growing preference for convenience foods. These indicators suggest that the demand for packaged food is likely to grow in Malaysia in the next few years and this should entice manufacturers of packaging products to infuse more investments. At present, among the foreign F&B firms in Malaysia are Nestlé, Ajinomoto, Activ International, Campbell’s, Cargill, Gardenia, Haco, Kerry Ingredients, Yakult and Coca-Cola. <br />
<br />
<b>Vietnam as haven for F&B investors</b><br />
The economy of Vietnam grew by an average of 6.2% per year from 2010 to 2018, one of the fastest in Asia. As a result, the purchasing power of its population also increased during the period with consumer preference shifting towards more convenient and packaged F&B. The country’s F&B manufacturing has been rising by an annual average of 7%. Vietnam’s officials have been enticing more foreigners to invest in the country’s F&B sector and this has been spilling over to the packaging segment.<br />
<br />
Vietnam is a major exporter of agricultural products and the processing of agricultural produce into higher-value items has been benefiting the packaging sector. The domestic demand for processed food is also being driven partly by a young population and the popularity of processed food. Supermarkets and convenience stores have sprouted across Vietnam. At present, multinational retailers that have established footprint in Vietnam are Circle K, 7-Eleven, B's mart, Family Mart, MiniStop, Big C, Aeon and Lotte. The retail and industrial sectors are likely to benefit further from a burgeoning F&B and plastics segments in Vietnam.<br />
<br />
<b>Philippines packaging sector to surge</b><br />
The Philippines is one of the fastest growing economies in Southeast Asia. From 2010 to 2018, the country grew by 6.3% per annum. This has resulted in a higher GDP per capita during the period, providing Filipino consumers with greater disposable incomes. Higher purchasing power per capita has been driving the demand for manufactured F&B in the country. The Services sector is one of the country’s major economic pillars and this has been growing on the back of a strong business process outsourcing (BPO) sector which mainly employs millennial workers who prefer packaged F&B due to convenience.<br />
<br />
The country’s processed F&B sector is domestically-driven, with an estimated 90% of packed F&B consumed locally. The packaging sector in the country is expected to grow over the next decade as the Philippines is primarily a domestic driven economy. Household or personal spending accounts for about 60% of the country’s GDP. At present, about 30% to 40% of retail space is occupied by F&B retailers, also presenting enormous opportunities for F&B packaging. Similar to other economies in Southeast Asia, the Philippine workforce is also driven by young and mobile employees, who contribute to higher demand for processed F&B. Foreign F&B manufacturers have been occupying industrial land and warehouses across the country to cater to a growing domestic demand. Moving forward, opportunities for F&B and allied sectors such as plastics packaging are the Philippines’ trade deals with the European Union and other Asian countries. Aside from the development of more industrial parks across the country, property developers in the Philippines are also encouraged to establish and modernize warehouses to support the growth of fast-moving consumer goods. Colliers International Philippines believes that greater demand for F&B is likely to spur the need for more warehouses. This should be complemented by an improving infrastructure network throughout the country. <div style="line-height: 100%; margin-bottom: 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Digitalisation,
resource efficiency and green production are key concerns for the
plastics industry and ARBURG (</span></span><span style="font-family: Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="font-size: small;"><i>www.arburg.com</i></span></span><span style="font-family: Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">)
has been clearly focusing on those trends and responding to the needs
of the various industries relying on plastics – such as automotive.
</span></span></span></span>

<div style="line-height: 100%; margin-bottom: 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">As
Gerhard Böhm, Managing Director-Sales at ARBURG said in his speech
at K 2019: “In the automotive industry, we can sense the
forthcoming change. Investments at the present time - with the
exception of special projects - are restrained because there is no
clear and definitive vision of the technology of the future. Having
said that, it is already possible to state that plastic will continue
to play a significant role in automotive construction because it is
such a versatile material.” </span></span></span></span>
</div>
<div style="line-height: 100%; margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="line-height: 100%; margin-bottom: 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Mr.
Böhm also stressed the significance of plastic as an important
material and valuable commodity for the future, and this leads to the
matrix of topics associated with circular economy and resource
efficiency. At K 2019, ARBURG presented two applications that
demonstrated how recyclate materials can be processed in a practical
context. </span></span></span></span>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: start;"><i><span style="color: blue; font-size: x-small;">Mr. Gerhard Böhm, Managing Director-Sales, ARBURG</span></i></span></td></tr>

</span></div>
<div style="line-height: 100%; margin-bottom: 0in;">
“<span style="font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 11pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">For
the injection moulding of cups made of PP on the packaging version of
our new hybrid ALLROUNDER 1020 H, clear evidence is emerging that the
addition of PP recyclate does not cause any fluctuations in quality,”
Mr. Böhm explained. While at the exhibition, the proportion of
recyclate was only about 30%, in the ARBURG Customer Centre, higher
proportions were successfully processed. The application proves that
if it is possible to collect plastics in segregated grades, it is
economically viable to introduce these back into the value-added
chain.</span></span></span></span></div>
<div style="line-height: 100%; margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="line-height: 100%; margin-bottom: 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Improvements
in the processing of post-consumer recyclate (PCR) has also been
achieved. ARBURG demonstrated the manufacture of a safety door handle
on ALLROUNDER injection moulding machines. On an electric
two-component ALLROUNDER 630 A, the PCR is processed after physical
foaming with the ARBURG ProFoam process. After that, the two handles
are installed in the tool and, in a third stage to the process, are
then coated with TPE. This application proved that PCR made from
domestic waste plastics is ideally suited to the production of
high-quality, durable industrial components for functional uses,
which constitutes a very important step, according to Mr. Böhm. </span></span></span></span>

<div style="line-height: 100%; margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="line-height: 100%; margin-bottom: 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Mr.
Böhm also explained that the innovative Film Insert Moulding (FIM)
process is a growing segment in the automotive, electronics and
medical technology sectors. For this application, the electric
ALLROUNDER 470 A running IMSE technology (Injection Moulded
Structured Electronics), has been able to coat the back of a 3D film
with integrated electronic functions and LEDs. </span></span></span></span>

<div style="line-height: 100%; margin-bottom: 0in;">
“<span style="font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">In
the area of digitalisation, the new filling assistant for the GESTICA
control unit is a highly complex piece of kit that provides a 3D
graphic animation of the fill level of a component in relation to the
current position of the screw. This delivers decisive benefits in
terms of tooling time, safety, component quality and process
stability,” according to Mr. Böhm. The plasticising assistant
involves a memory chip integrated in the cylinder module. This makes
it possible to perform preventive maintenance on an as-needed basis,
and it improves troubleshooting for Service. “In the future, all
ALLROUNDER machines will be equipped with what we call Basis
Connectivity. With this so-called IIoT Gateway, our machines can be
networked to higher-level software tools and arburgXworld easily and
in a standardised manner,” Mr. Böhm added. Customers can
configure and order this compact machine online using an app on the
“arburgXworld” customer portal in a few simple steps - and can
enjoy fast delivery lead times and attractive prices. </span></span></span></span></div>

K, the leading global trade fair for the plastics and rubber industry, has drawn to a close in Düsseldorf after eight days on October 23. The 3,330 exhibitors from 63 nations proved impressively: plastics continue to be an innovative, indispensable, future-oriented material. But they also unanimously underscored the necessity of having operational circular economies along the complete material chain and to this end already presented concrete solutions. Companies struck a nerve with people with this focus because the approximately 225,000 visitors from 165 countries took great interest especially in recycling systems, sustainable raw materials, resource-saving processes. Furthermore, K 2019 was characterized by a high propensity to invest as before. The intention among the international trade audience to get perfectly geared up for the future with the latest technologies was clearly perceivable.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #29200f; font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px; max-width: 100%; overflow-wrap: normal; overflow: visible;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #29200f; font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px; max-width: 100%; overflow-wrap: normal; overflow: visible;">
“K 2019 came at precisely the right point in time. Its enormous importance for the sector is underpinned by its high acceptance levels all over the world. There is no other place the industry is represented so internationally and completely as here in Düsseldorf every three years,” says Werner Matthias Dornscheidt, President & CEO of Messe Düsseldorf, and explains: “Especially in times of great challenges, a platform like the K is indispensable. It provides guidance and perspectives, sets sustainable economic impulses, shows forward-looking trends and concrete approaches. The industry and its professional associations enjoyed the unique opportunity here to present sector-specific solutions and debate questions of socio-political relevance on a global scale. And they have capitalised on this opportunity outstandingly well.”</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #29200f; font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px; max-width: 100%; overflow-wrap: normal; overflow: visible;">

<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #29200f; font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px; max-width: 100%; overflow-wrap: normal; overflow: visible;">

<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #29200f; font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px; max-width: 100%; overflow-wrap: normal; overflow: visible;">
Ulrich Reifenhäuser, Chairman of the Exhibitor Advisory Board at K 2019, was absolutely delighted at K 2019 results: “The plastics and rubber industry succeeded in proving once again that plastics are not only very valuable materials with outstanding properties but also that this industry assumes responsibility along the entire value chain. The buzzwords at K 2019 “Reflect. Re-Think. Think Laterally. Think Afresh.” were mirrored by exhibitors’ stands. Never before has the industry addressed an issue so unanimously and worked on solutions so consistently as is the case now in the fields of environmental compatibility, saving resources and avoiding waste. There is a spirit of new departures prevailing in the industry and current dynamics are overwhelming.”</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #29200f; font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px; max-width: 100%; overflow-wrap: normal; overflow: visible;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #29200f; font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px; max-width: 100%; overflow-wrap: normal; overflow: visible;">
And the positive mood prevailing at K 2019 was also echoed by concrete demand at exhibition stands: “It became clear that global demand for innovative machinery and raw materials is particularly high right now, despite the current tensions in world trade or the business climate in some consumer sectors. This year’s K has by far exceeded our expectations and was able to generate key impetus for sustainable governance and new business models,” said Reifenhäuser.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #29200f; font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px; max-width: 100%; overflow-wrap: normal; overflow: visible;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #29200f; font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px; max-width: 100%; overflow-wrap: normal; overflow: visible;">
The countries especially well represented on the part of visitors after Germany were Italy, the Netherlands, India, Turkey and China, followed by the USA. Furthermore, a marked increase in the number of trade visitors from the Russian Federation, Japan and Brazil could be registered. The number of executives among K visitors rose slightly yet again: to the tune of 68% came from top or middle management. With over 90 percent, visitor satisfaction was again at a top level. While for German trade visitors increased efficiency ranked first as the currently most important issue, the expansion of product and service portfolios was in the foreground for European and non-European trade fair guests.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #29200f; font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px; max-width: 100%; overflow-wrap: normal; overflow: visible;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #29200f; font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px; max-width: 100%; overflow-wrap: normal; overflow: visible;">
Once again, K was able to score points as a premiere platform where many trend-setting products and applications were presented to the world public for the first time. The innovations were not only admired, but also many concrete negotiations were conducted and contracts signed. “We found the propensity to invest extremely high and across all nations. In particular, business with new customers was very positive this year. We are also confident about very strong follow-up business,” says Mr. Reifenhäuser. For the guests from throughout the world investment in expansion ranked particularly high on the list, especially in extruders and extrusion lines. The survey among visitors also showed that the interest in machinery and equipment for plastics reclamation and recycling is noticeably higher abroad than in Germany.</div>
