World Cup 2010 - Jerseys from recycled bottles

After the Winter Olympics, here's another world sports event that has taken the "green" path. Interesting to know that about 9 teams in the World Cup are wearing environment-friendly jerseys made from recycled plastic bottles.

Teams from Brazil, the Netherlands and Portugal are among those waring shirs made in Taiwan. Each jersey is made from 8 plastic bottles that were melted and processed into polyester. According to Taiwan cabinet, this created a fabric that is lighter and can absorb/dispense sweat faster than traditional fabric.
