Recognising the innovative spirit - the Ringier Innovation Awards for Plastics

The annual Ringier Technology Innovation Awards for the Plastics Industry has become one of the most influential awards in China since its introduction in 2006. The purpose of the Awards is to encourage, acknowledge and reward individuals and companies who have introduced and developed a new idea, a new methodology, a new product or a new technology for manufacturing production efficiency, cost effectiveness, user convenience, which might result in energy saving and more responsible clean manufacturing in the plastics industry.

Each year, Ringier receives a large number of entries from companies -- big and small -- whose innovations are worth recognising. In fact, all of them deserved to be recognised not only for launching products to boost cost-efficiency and sustainability, but most especially for keeping the plastics industry’s dynamic creative spirit alive and robust.

This year, Ringier once again announced the start of the search for the most innovative products. As the guidelines state, the Award is open to any company engaged in materials & auxiliaries, injection moulding technology, extrusion technology, blow moulding technology, moulds & components; material handling; measurement & testing; automation; application of innovative technologies; and auxiliary equipment. A panel of judges who are industry experts in their own right will judge the entries.

The Award has three stages: the first stage has the entry submission and nomination which has a deadline of May 30. The second stage is the voting and judging and this takes place from June 13 – July 6 where the panel of judges shortlists the entries in each innovation Awards category, and the final winners for each category selected after a serious review, evaluation and voting. The third stage is the Awards ceremony which takes place on August 16 where the winners are announced during the 7th Plastics Technology Application in Consumer Electronic Products Conference. The Awards ceremony will bring together the winners, judges, industry professionals and media.

This is an exciting opportunity for companies engaged in the plastics industry to promote their technologies and products. It has also been an excellent chance to build up extensive and valuable network with China’s market experts and industry leaders during the Awards ceremony.
